David Flores, a founding member of the REZIZTE collective has put together a really great art event on Friday and Saturday of next week, January 21 and 22, with 13 crews from around the city (see photos and post on my page). Artists, DJ's and others are donating their time, the INBA art museum in Juarez is donating refreshments and a freshly painted wall that stretches around the museum and is highly visible in downtown Juarez, but the crews themselves have to provide the materials, and he's realized over the past week that many can't afford to do that.
We are trying to raise money for 150 cans of graffiti-quality spray paint, @ $5 a can that's $750 dollars. We are working with Making Graffity store in Juarez who are donating the special caps used by the artists in their work.
