David Villanueva is this year’s marketing and publicity coordinator for the Frontera Pride Film Festival. He will join us on the air today to talk about this year’s coming festival and to make a call out for submissions.
Also joining us on today's show is María Elena García from Las Americas.
Garcia will be talking about the upcoming fundraiser, “BELLES for BELLA this Saturday, Feb. 13 at 8 p.m. Proceeds from the show benefit the fight against domestic violence featuring live performances by Emily Davis, Iris Lopez and Nicole Smith. In-kind donations for the women of BELLA and their children are bedding, toiletries, feminine hygiene products, cosmetics, children's clothing, and the like. García works with Las Americas, an organization that advocates for victims of human trafficking, crime victims, unaccompanied immigrant children with no one to speak on their behalf, asylees that are fleeing persecution and violence, and with battered women filing for protection through the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).
Las Americas is in need of dedicated volunteers to help us help those that are the most vulnerable.
