Today on "The Lisa D Show" at noon MST on KHRO 1150 we are promoting several very exciting events. First we'll talk to Jessica Escalante about Escalante Roofing Co.'s free roof giveaway. This is an annual event where the company gives one fortunate family/business a new roof, for free! Find out how you can participate.
Then we'll talk to Austin Savage about tonight's very exciting debut by the Border Theatre, El Paso's newest theater group. "Exhibitions in Dis/Connection," a series of four 10-minute one-act plays (see list below) will open tonight through Aug. 15 at Forum Arts + Culture on 1500 Texas, $7 a night, $15 for a three-day pass. Plays:
1. "Armed With Peanut Butter" by Dana Lynn Formby of Chicago's Mortar Theatre Company. It's set in a mental institution.
2. "Leprechaun," a comedy by local writer Maria Torres about two strippers talking backstage.
3. "How One Twin Absorbed the Other," an avant-garde play by El Pasoan Stella Marie Perry, set in a mother's womb.
4. "Doors," about two brothers, written by UTEP graduate Sebastian Aguirre of Chicago's Live Wire Theatre. Savage directs this one.
