Event: Fronterizos In Exile: a reading of border writers and expatriates
Wednesday, December 29 · 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Loft Light Studios
315. S. El Paso Street (2 blocks south of Camino Real Hotel)
$5 cover per person. A reading by local and expatriate writers from the El Paso/Cd. Juarez and surrounding area. 10 minutes per writer. Walk-ons are welcome. Afterward, there will be a poetry and acoustical music open mic. Confirmed writers include Amalio Madueño, Rafael Jesús González, Rosalia Solorzano, Robb Chavez, and Olga Camacho. Sign-up at 6:30 p.m. for performers. Casual seating, bring your own sleeping bag, blanket, mat, or lawn chair. 12.15.10: Today on The Lisa D Show
Today on The Lisa D Show at noon we'll start the show with Carlos Mendoza. Mendoza is promoting a very cool shopping event this Thursday night at the Loft Light Studio in Downtown El Paso, "Fashion at the Loft." Styles from local boutique Trend Society will be on display and for sale with lots of opportunities to shop for holiday gifts!
The live interview segment will include a discussion with Terry Chase Hazell from Innovate El Paso about a very exciting program in El Paso dedicated to fostering growth of women entrepreneurs. Info about the program is below.
Odyssey Program
The Odyssey Program is an eight-month-long, applied entrepreneurship program for women designed to teach you how to develop your own high-growth, scalable company.
The program follows a rigorous and proven methodology in a supportive environment with 25 other aspiring women entrepreneurs, and features speakers from the local business community and a network of program graduates.
But the true strength of The Odyssey lies in the successful entrepreneurs-in-residence (EIRs). Throughout the program, these three women will serve as one-on-one mentors to help you access capital, license technology, assemble an advisory board and much more.
The qualified applicant will live in El Paso or Las Cruces, AND…
have a few years of work experience, OR has experience taking products to market, OR will have served in an executive position in a company, OR will have started a company in the past… and believes she has a passion for entrepreneurship.
