Football: Meet Univ. of Miami "Hurricanes" at Fort Bliss Today

Fort Bliss is excited that the Univ. of Miami "Hurricanes" are sending several players to the Freedom Crossing Shopping area on Dec. 27th at 2:30 p.m.-3:15 p.m.

Hurricanes fans can bring items to autograph and take photos with the players.

*No Notre Dame players will attend this event

PUBLIC--How to access Fort Bliss:
Public Access to Fort Bliss/Freedom Crossing: From 9 a.m. to midnight, 7 days a week, civilians can access Fort Bliss through the Robert E. Lee gate (located off Airway Blvd) or Cassidy Gate (off Hwy. 54) in a U.S.-plated vehicle with valid proof of identification, proof of vehicle registration and insurance. Vehicles/people are subject to our security procedures; but, no longer have to stop and get a pass.

During this roundtable, you will have the opportunity to meet other influential El Paso bloggers, discuss opportunities and advancements at Fort Bliss with the post's Public Affairs Office staff and exchange ideas of how we can work together to share the most accurate and up-to-date post and local community information. Our goal is to further enhance and strengthen our ties with you and other respectable bloggers and further highlight the magnetic bond between our community and the post.

“Film by You” movie scene reenactment contest on YouTube. “We wanted to create a contest to get El Paso and its surrounding communities excited about the festival and film in general! So what better way to do that than to have people reenact their favorite movie scenes for all to see. And so we came up with the “Film By You” Video Contest.” The 2nd Annual Frontera Pride Film Festival will be June 18 and 19, 2010 and the winners of this short and sweet contest will be announced all during the festival. Winners will receive various items donated by local business who support the festival. Announce a Month of Queer Cinema Info
April will celebrate a month of queer films at two local independent cinemas. There will be nine (9) films shown at either the Fellini Film Café on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. or The Percolator on Saturdays at noon. The selected films comprise both classic LGBT-themed and those with a strong queer following. All screenings are free to the public, with the request that the host venues be patronized. These films are being shown as preludes to the Frontera Pride Film Festival to be held on June 18 and 19, 2010. For more information, please contact either host organization.
