Artprize Truck Drawing Bottle Prep
Dave Ford is a visual artist living in El Paso, Texas, originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is participating in Artprize 2010, competing against more than 1,200 other artists to win $250,000. His entry; a truck drawing.
Going through the inventory of water bottles is a crucial part of the Truck Drawing preparation. Every bottle has to be checked for leaks and a functional graphite point by suspending the bottless. Driving more than 1,600 miles, the pencils on the bottles will create the marks and lines of the truck drawing.

Artprize Truck Drawing 2010
Artist Dave Ford* is competing in this year's Artprize in Grand Rapids, MI. Ford will create a truck drawing and in this video illustrates how the movement of the truck creates the drawing using pencil-tipped water bottles suspended over paper in the back of a moving truck. Ford will drive from El Paso to Grand Rapids, more than 1,600 miles, while in the back of the truck, movement and time create the truck drawing.
