5.18.10: Today's Show

Today on "The Lisa D Show" we'll be talking with Viva El Paso's new executive director, Robert Andrade. Andrade is new to the position but has lots of history with Viva, like the time the set burnt down and he helped to rebuild it. We'll talk with him about exciting news and information about the program.

Also, we'll discuss a super fun new eco-tourism project happening this summer that will help you learn to love El Paso's outdoors - First Annual El Paso "Rattler Outdoor Challenge" on Saturday, June 13, 2010 from 7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

"The "Rattler Outdoor Challenge" will be a combined race of running, hiking, cycling and rowing. For runners, there will be a 5k or 10k option and the course will begin at Franklin Mountain's Tom Mays Park, Lower/Upper Sunset Trail.

For cyclists, the running course will connect to the mountain cycling portion of the trail, which will start at Tom May's and connect to Doniphan. The cyclists will follow the trail to Borderland Ave., which will connect to the River Park.

For canoeist and kayakers, the course from River Park will be 1.75 miles down the Rio Grande to the finish line. The festivities will take place at Valley Oak Park on Gomez street."
